3.78.?.8

Well another day, another update. This time I think I have actually made some progress.

  • Put a few more css tags in the html for more control
    • The nav gets its own link thingy
    • the profile titles - to make them bold
  • Also started working on the actuall CSS buy putting all the tags in there
Karl has suggested to do a complete redesign, but I think if I can just finnish setting this up then I can tweak the design as I please. With the help of good ol css.

Been working on the new site as per usual, but also managed to get some homework done. Which is just fantastic...

Anyway, I still havent really started work on the actauly styling of the website, as I'm still laying things out etc.

  • Fixed up the navigation
  • added a global favorites link section.
  • Put on a few buttons
  • Put comments through out the page

An update on the update

At the moment I'm kinda having a break on this CSS layout thingy. This is so that I can get other real life work done. But I'm already upto version 51. Which is pretty stupid considering its going to look exactly like the current site. Obviously I will fix up the CSS mess I made before.... So I'm going to call it version 3.51.5.8

The 3 is obviously for it being the second version, well its proberly not the 3rd version but I just cant be bothered to check up on how many versions there actually are.

51 is for the number of revisions done to the current version

The 5 stands for the number of days worked. Not full days, but anyday that I touch it, that pertains to the current version.

the 8 stands for the number of backups done on the current site.

Not sure if this is the correct way to "version" something, but I think it works...

History

Version 1: The initial incarnation of this plain white, beancounting site

Version 2: Introduced CSS

Version 3: Replaced the tables with CSS magic

Profile Fixed

Seem to have fixed my profile problem by putting individual tags instead of the magic tag.

No more table

I have started on a great quest to get rid of tables in my templates. So far so good. I started off using that CSS layout generator. So far everythings go ok. but I'm still having problems with the all inclusive profile tag, which when copyed straight from a blogger made template it still stuffs up.

Im gona try and use individual profile tags and If all else fails just modify a blogger template to suit me.

The final product wont obviously look like this. The shaded areas are there so I can what I am doing.
